| Statement
of Beliefs |
We believe
the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant
word of God and constitutes His completed and final revelation to
men. The Bible is without error in whole and in part including
theological concepts as well as geographical and historical details
(II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21).
We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, His only begotten
Son, our Lord. We believe in the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God
come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, but without sin
(Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-2, John 10:30).
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke
1:34-35), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26), performed
miracles (John 2:11), suffered a vicarious and atoning death (I
Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), was resurrected (John
11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), ascended to the right hand of God the
Father (Mark 16:19), and will return personally in power and glory
(Acts 1: 11, Revelation 19:11).
All men are in violation of God's righteous requirements and His
holy character by nature and act, and are therefore under His wrath
and just condemnation (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).
Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. (This gift must
be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal
works whatsoever, but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ
alone.) We are saved by turning from our sinful ways and trusting in
the shed blood of Jesus Christ, believing on Him and making Him our
Lord and Savior. We are saved by grace through faith. (John 3:16-19,
John 5:24, Romans 3:23-24, 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).
The saved and unsaved will both be resurrected, the one to eternal
life in the presence of God and the other to eternal damnation (John
5:28-29).
God is the only Creator, everything else is created and, therefore,
inferior to Him (John 1:3).
God desires all members of His body to dwell in unity with each
other regardless of race, gender, social, doctrinal or economical
differences (I Corinthians 12:12-13, Psalm 133:1).
Marriage
consists of one man and one woman bound until death in holy covenant
before God and witnesses and what God has joined together man should
not separate. (Matthew 19:3-6) Any sexual relationship outside of
the confines of marriage between one man and one woman is sinful.
(Galatians 5:19 & 21)
Children are a precious and direct blessing from God (Psalm
127:3-5).
In signing this application, I and my spouse (if applicable) acknowledge that
I/we may receive lodging in other members' homes and/or will be willingly available to
open up my/our home in return to accommodate other members.
I/we recognize that HOME TO HOME will make every effort to
accommodate each member's request but cannot guarantee the availability of a home or other
arrangement. I/we understand that HOME TO HOME cannot be responsible for the actions
of host families or guests in any home. I/we agree to report to HOME TO
HOME any
improper actions by hosts or guests if they occur, and will hold harmless HOME TO
HOME from any claim for damages relating to the services provided by HOME TO
HOME. The only responsibility of HOME TO HOME is to serve as a referral network, providing
information to prospective traveling members who wish to participate.
I/we acknowledge that I/we have thoroughly read, and prayerfully
considered, the HOME TO HOME statement of beliefs and that I/we wholeheartedly agree
with and will abide by its contents. I/we have also read the disclaimer and enclosed
information and have sought the Lord's wisdom regarding the decision to join HOME TO
HOME. I/we understand that because of the nature of hosting a family, HOME To
HOME is
an organization whose membership is made up only of those who claim Jesus Christ as their
personal Lord and Savior. I/we, too, make this claim.
I/we also acknowledge that I/we will use the membership directory
for the sole purpose of practicing the giving and receiving of Christian hospitality. I/we
realize the privileged and confidential nature of the information contained in the
membership directory and I/we agree to keep the information private, not making it
available (i.e. give, borrow, rent, etc.) for any purpose, to anyone who is not a member
of HOME To HOME.
